HONOUR

THE LOVELY TEAGHAN

Sadly Teaghan, Southerns most senior search dog, died on the 28 MARCH 2007.He was only six years old, but had an inoperable brain tumour

Teaghan was Southerns first operational Lowland Search Dog, passing his assessment in DEC 2003.He took part in searches in many of the Southern counties; his final operational search being OCT 06 when, whilst on the Isle of Man, our team were called out to assist SARDA IOM in the search for a possble injured person.

Teaghan was also a much-loved therapy dog working with his handler at Parklands Hospital Basingstoke. He started working there at the age of three months and proved very popular with patients and staff alike.

With little help from his handler he gave many talks over the past two years to various professional bodies in Hampshire, and raised approx £400 for the team in this way, eagerly claiming some biscuits as his reward!

Teaghan's last public appearance was at Tesco's, Winchester in MARCH 07 where, despite already being unwell,he helped to raise funds for he team.

He will be missed by his handler and all of Southern as well as by his many friends.
